Coaches
Volunteers are key to the success of our youth sports leagues. The time, energy, enthusiasm and patience our coaches put forth each season is remarkable. The dedication of our volunteer coaches is something we're very proud of.

Each season we are in need of coaches. If you are a parent interested in coaching your child's team and agree to a multi-state background check, please register on-line as a Head Coach before attending the mandatory Head Coach meeting per below. All Head Coaches must also submit a paper YMCA application, available only at the meeting. Assistant coaches should not register online. Due to the large number of participants in our league we can guarantee that you will be able to coach your child's team as long as you register on-line prior to the coach meeting. 

If you are a non-parent community member interested in coaching a YMCA youth team you must make arrangements to meet with a YMCA Director one-on-one prior to registering to coach online.

Requesting Players: Using online registration, coaches may request up to 12 players to be on their team. If the coach has only requested 1 or 5 players, for example, the YMCA will fill the team with other players from the same grade, school or geographic location. To request players you must enter their up-to-date phone number. Most teams will have up to 11 players.

Inclement Weather Cancellation Information
To find out if your gym is open for a game or practice during severe weather please call: THPRD at 503.629.6395. Please do not call the YMCA. Closure decisions are made by 7:30 a.m. for Saturday games and by 4:00 p.m. for weekday practices.
