Fall Pee Wee Basketball League

Game Schedules

Commonly Asked Questions

What if my child doesn't live in the Beaverton School District?
It's ok. All children are welcome to play in the Westside YMCA Leagues at no additional cost.

Where are the practices and games played?
All practices / games will be played on Saturdays in one of the Beaverton Elementary school gyms.
We won't know what schools we'll be using until mid-October, right before the league starts. The Pee Wee League will not play basketball during the week. Sorry, but we won't know what schools we'll be using until mid-October.

When are practices?

All teams will have two one-hour practices before the games start on October 25th. The practices will be on Saturday, October 11th and 18th. Both practices will be held in one of the Beaverton Elementary School gyms.

Unfortunately, due to scheduling constraints, you won't find out when and where your child will be practicing on October 11th and 18th until the first week in October. However, your child will practice at the same time, and in the same location, on both practice days.

Will the teams still practice once the games start?
Yes. Once the games start on October 25th, teams will have a short practice followed by a game totaling one hour. For example, if a team is scheduled to play at 9:00 a.m., then the team will practice from 9:00 a.m. – 9:20 a.m. (they'll share the court with another team, and then the two teams will play a game).

How long are the sessions?
Saturday sessions consist of one hour total: a short 20 minute practice followed by a 40 minute game. In the spirit of non-competition, score will not be kept.

How high are the basketball hoops / what size ball do they use?
3-4 year-olds play on 6 foot hoops and use a # 3 mini ball
5-6 year-olds and 1st graders play on 8 foot hoops and use a junior ball (size 27.5)
